How to Use These Reading Lists

Hypnosis is a skill anyone can learn. Erotic Mind Control is a skill anyone can learn. Powerful and automatic Dominance is a skill anyone can learn. Eager and conscious Submission is a skill anyone can learn. When a Man seeks mastery and improvement of himself, we should reach out a hand and help him to see what we see.

There are a few links on this site to specific products, which I make a few cents from to help cover hosting costs. If something is listed anywhere in this site, it's because I think it will be of some benefit to you, and I am fiercely impartial.

Read Me First! - The Golden Rule

Whatever books you read, always follow and put into practise the Golden Rule:

"For every 1 hour that your spend in dedicated study, you must spend 2 hours practising the techniques."

It sounds simple, but you would honestly be amazed at the people who simply don't follow it, and end up overloaded with "book knowledge" and unable to put it into practice. Any one of the Five Methods below count towards "Putting it into Practise".

The Five Ways We Learn

The ideas in this section are taken from Gary Hoovers excellent book "The Lifetime Learners Guide to Reading and Learning".

Study
Conversation
Observation
Experimentation
Cognition

Study - What you would think of as traditional "book learning", periods of time alone and free from distraction with the text, reading it, thinking on it and forming connections and relationships with things you already know.

Conversation - Earnest and enthusiastic discussion of a books ideas and concepts with other people, or yourself out loud. Discussion groups, phone calls, dinner, etc.

Observation - Carefully watching what someone else is doing, taking notes, asking questions, and seeing things from different angles. Putting yourself in someone else's shoes.

Experimentation - Taking the pressure off, creating a safe atmosphere of fun and play, and going through it, without taking yourself too seriously

Cognition - Time alone in deep though, often while walking without a screen or unconnected with technology, a relaxing walk through nature is excellent for this.

Combine multiple of these techniques together to learn and absorb information faster. For example, with a fairly well defined skillset like Rope Bondage - read a book AND practise on yourself safely AND practise with a friend AND go to a class AND talk about it with other enthusiasts AND give a short speech on why you love it AND teach somebody what you know AND .... will allow you to pick it up quicker, retain it better, and articulate it more directly than just doing any one of the above techniques.

The Required Reading List For Dominants and Masters

This list was made for the legions of Heterosexual Male Dominants out there not currently being given any real guidance in how to progress in their relationships or in their development and evolution as Powerful, Worthy Dominants. There is a lot out there for Gay Men, for Leather (Dr Bob Rubel is an excellent source for information into that culture) but the huge majority of growing and upcoming Dominants are not being welcomed into the Harmonious Relationships, the Happiness, the Power and Ownership that is their birthright as Men, and this list is for them.

Many good Male Self-Improvement and Business texts are also very valuable, particularly ones around improving your Executive abilities.

Note: After being Vanilla comes Dominance, after Dominance comes Mastery. Even if a Dominant chooses not to go deeply into Mastery (and that is his right, it is a very full-on life and the overwhelming majority of people will be truly happier as Dominants), it is still very valuable for him to have an understanding of the area and take what practices and concepts he might wish to take from it. In that respect LT Morrisons books are pure diamonds and highly recommended.

Every single one of these books must be read in order to cover the full range of skills an effective Dominant will require in their Ownership and Use of another Human. Every book on Core Texts list is essential and not a single one can be skipped. Once the Core Curriculum has been read, there are further books listed for teaching and training Submissives in specific areas of competency. A similar themed required reading list for Submissives is included below. Much effort has been made to eliminate any texts that are anti-male - if you encounter the occasional paragraph of SJW nonsense in the books below, rest assured they are by far the best of the possible options and skip over those sections completely with my blessing.

The Required Reading List For Submissives and Slaves

Much of this content will Mirror the above list, as being a Dominant requires a broad and deep knowledge, while a Submissives knowledge is often a subset of that combined with a lot of training on how their particular Owner likes things done. However, the more skills you can bring to the relationship, the more valuable you will be and these books cover the real fundamentals and basics of being a useful Submissive.

The two books on the Required List are non-negotiable, they will teach you how to take care of yourself, set boundaries, and be a healthy and pleasing submissive, as well as how to truly serve and be at peace with your service in a meaningful way.

The path of a submissive is sometimes hard, and often joyful. You are special, you are chosen, and whom you choose to serve give your life tremendous meaning and importance. You have so much to contribute, and you will find you place.

I believe in you.

The List of Influential Erotic Fiction

Within the world of Erotica, there are a handful of titles mentioned over and over for their influence on the genre and their historical potency. These books have created entire subcultures, and shaped the expressions of desire of happy, healthy kink folk the world over. In the spirit of education, the most well known and seminal titles are listed above. I suggest that you read any of these books that appeal to you, and if you find a deep love of one or more, that it can provide clues to the overall direction of your explorations deeper into your wants and desires, where you feel most at home. Enjoy!

The Erotic Hypnosis Reading List

This list is for people who are unhappy with the common cry online of "just buy a copy of Mind Play and read it and then go find someone to practise with". I see you out there struggling in an often-unfriendly, often-unwelcoming and often-highly-politically-charged hypnokink "Community", just trying to make your way, and this list is my gift to you.

Erotic Hypnosis is just ordinary Hypnosis with some sexy content thrown in - the same techniques still apply (Erotic Hypnosis can be considered a subset of a broader category of "Hypnosis" of which Stage and Therapeutic work are also subsets). Learning general hypnosis will make you a better erotic hypnotist - once hypnotic technique is combined with some awesome, sexy content. Take inspiration from books, movies, ideas (Vampirism!) or famous scenes in media and take yourself and your partner on a journey of fun, domination, sexy awakening, or just plain old brainwashing.

Below you will find a fairly comprehensive list of erotic-hypnosis-specific textbooks and written resources, the result of many years of my own reading, study and research. For further content on the subject of Erotic Hypnosis check out the Links page for some good EH podcasts, websites and other useful software, educational resources, etc.

Notable Authors: James Gordon, LeeAllure, Mark Wiseman, Peter Masters, Flagg, Joseph Crown.

Learning Erotic Hypnosis - The HLSS Cards

Get these Cards - They are free ($6 for shipping) and they come with a series of videos on their use. They are the single most effective tool I have found for creating and teaching effective hypnotists, and this includes erotic hypnotists. (Though the cards themselves are not erotic in nature, it's very simple to layer in erotic content when you practice). Buy them, use them. You will have to click through a few pages of marketing fluff on the website to get to the purchase page, just scroll down and move forward. They are worth it.

Core (Required) Texts

TLDR: Pick any one of these three, depending on which one appeals to you the most.  "Mastering Erotic Hypnosis" is a classic textbook, with each part of the book broken into sections and covers a wider range of specific hypnofetish niches like Puppy / Kitty Transformations, Robotisation, and more hypnotic phenomena as does "Mind Play". They are both roughly equivalent in content. The other introductory text on the subject by Peter Masters is shorter, tightly written and very easy to apply - important in an introductory text designed to be USED, not simply read.

Mastering Erotic Hypnosis by James Gordon

Look Into My Eyes by Peter Masters

Mind Play: A Guide to Erotic Hypnosis by Mark Wiseman

Specialised (Optional) Texts

For teaching Erotic Hypnosis Classes

On Creating Hypnotic Amnesia

Mindfucks and Edgeplay with Hypnosis

Combining Sex and Erotic Hypnosis

Managing a Hypnosis-based Relationship

Safety Note - Joseph Crowns sections on creating "alters" can cause permanent and dangerous side effects. Avoid using those techniques unless you have been specifically trained in them by a Professional and understand how to resolve and dissolve them. If you require assistance in undoing them or the work of other hypnotists, use the Contact page to get in touch.

The Hypnosis Reading List

Hypnosis is a complex skillset, and for that reason not all of it's different facets (Erotic, Theraputic, Stage, Comedy) need to be grasped before you actually start practising with a partner, merely the fundamentals. The basic skills of a successful and effective Hypnosis Session include how to establish authority, how to set up a session, establish boundaries, negotiate content, induce trance, deliver on the experience, handle any negative reactions, and emerge with positive suggestions. Adding extra techniques from the Erotic or Therapeutic fields (if you're feeling daring / have been appropriately trained) can come after a solid basis of experience has been established. For that, any one of the books below in the Introductory Texts will do, there is no need to read all of them as there is a significant overlap in content covered.

A Note of Caution: Some of these Therapeutic based techniques are significantly more powerful than simple direct suggestion and can result in changes that are difficult to undo. Always consider the end goal, the capabilities and desires of yourself and your subject, and your technical abilities and moral character when going deeper into longer term change. My solid advice to you is to always learn how to UNDO an effect, before you learn how to apply it - and to only apply effects that you personally know how to undo. If you get stuck and need a hand - contact me for advice here.

Hypnosis Books - Beginners / Introductory Level Texts

Hypnosis Books - Intermediate and Advanced Level Texts

Once you've mastered the basics and have 4 - 6 months of SOLID practice under your belt with either Erotic or Non-Erotic Hypnosis (lets be honest, most of you are probably here to learn how to give your partner wild, incredible orgasms) you can move on to these:

Mostly Theoretical
